During heavy rain the drains further up the hill rapidly become blocked by leaves and other debris causing sand gravel and stones to be dep.osited in the drain in question. Although the chamber is not completely full the gravel is above the entry and exit pipes and water flowing in simply flows out again down Ham lane.
