Previous repair to bridge inadequate

This pertains to the footbridge over the road. One of the planks on this bridge started to deteriorate a few months back, The gap was eventually filled using tar but it has not helped and the wood is deteriorating further and the tar has sunk too, the planks also appear to be looser than before.
