Loose utility chamber cover causing loud clanging noise whenever vehicles pass

Reported via desktop in the Loose/rattling cover/ironwork category anonymously at 20:24, Tuesday 7 July 2026

Sent to Gloucestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9750362.

The utility chamber cover in the carriageway at appears to be loose. Every time a vehicle drives over it, it produces a very loud metallic clanging/banging noise. This occurs throughout the day and night, including when larger vehicles pass, and is causing a significant noise nuisance for nearby residents. The repeated impact noise is intrusive, particularly during quieter evening and night-time hours, and is disturbing sleep and affecting nearby homes.

The issue has been present for months and appears to be getting no better. The cover would benefit from inspection and repair or adjustment to eliminate the noise.
