Not a complaint, just an observation and suggestion. Would it be possible for Not Suitable for HGVs signs for Church Street and Horsefair Street? HGV got stuck at the War Memorial yesterday evening and all vehicles behind had to back up to make room for the HGV to navigate around the War Memorial, this caused a build up of traffic from Church Piece to Lyefield Road West on Horsefair Street. Reporter is not sure if any damage was done to the War Memorial due to the hap hazardous maneuvering of the HGV.

  • This report has now been passed to the Highways team for assessment.

    If repair work is required, it will either be classed as urgent or will be put into a planned programme of works to ensure it is repaired as efficiently as possible.

    In some cases a temporary repair will be needed, to make the area safe, then engineers will return to make a permanent repair.

    An update on the issue will be provided.
