Bridge is damaged/missing problem

The disused railway tunnel as part of this PROW is crumbling. Caller reports that a grounds person confirmed bricks are porous and you can see brickwork through the top of the tunnel. Caller is concerned that this is going to collapse. Environment agency also told caller - 'the railway bridge deck is falling away and believes network rail may own this'
In the meantime, reporter has closed this access off to Angling Group members.
This report has now been passed to the Highways team for assessment.
If repair work is required, it will either be classed as urgent or will be put into a planned programme of works to ensure it is repaired as efficiently as possible.
In some cases a temporary repair will be needed, to make the area safe, then engineers will return to make a permanent repair.
An update on the issue will be provided.
