Extensive deterioration of the full width of the road and running for a length of approx 10 meters, forcing road users on a daily basis to mount the verge in order to lessen ongoing damage to their vehicles. The irony - of course - is that Gloucestershire Highways recently resurfaced the entire lane in this hamlet (much of it not actually needing doing) but neglected to actually resurface the ONE part of the lane that really needed attention. Residents at the time asked Highways workers if they would be resurfacing this neglected area and were told it was not part of their plans. The result is a section of lane that is a misery to drive over each day and undoubtably will increase the wear on vehicles with potential damage.....and will require GH to make a wholly avoidable return visit (at increased expense) in order to rectify. Gloucestershire Highways have known about this deteriorated section of lane for many months now and have not taken action. Therefore roadusers who sustain damage, loss or injury here should feel confident in challenging GH for compensation.

Thank you for reporting a pothole.
First, a safety inspector will visit the location to assess whether a repair needs to be completed and plan the work needed. Works are prioritised based on the urgency of the situation. The council aim to repair all significant potholes (more than 4cm deep and 30cm wide) within 28 days.
In some cases a temporary repair will be needed, to make the area safe, then engineers will return to make a permanent repair.

This pothole report has now been passed to the Safety Inspection Team for assessment.
A safety inspector will make an assessment of the work needed and they will consider a number of factors, including the flow of traffic and the size of the pothole.
If repair work is required, the pothole will either be classed as urgent or will be put into a planned programme of works to ensure it is repaired as efficiently as possible. We aim to complete the repair work within 28 days.
In some cases a temporary repair will be needed, to make the area safe, then engineers will return to make a permanent repair.
An update on the outcome of the safety inspection will be provided.

I am pleased to inform you this pothole has been repaired.
Gloucestershire County Council is responsible for almost 6,000km of roads and each one is routinely inspected (on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis, depending on the type of road). Issues can develop quickly in between these inspections and residents help by reporting problems online.
