Dangerous road deterioration
Sent to Gloucestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9262786.
The pothole issue previously reported has not been resolved, despite the case being marked as completed. No work has been carried out and the condition of the road has worsened.
This is now a serious safety concern. There are several elderly residents on this road, as well as wheelchair users, and the current state of the surface is extremely dangerous and difficult to navigate.
Residents have had to temporarily fill the potholes with sand to reduce the risk, but this only lasts a few days and is not a solution.
At this stage, the road requires proper repair, not patching, along with attention to the drainage issue which is clearly contributing to the deterioration.
This needs to be addressed urgently.

Thank you for reporting a pothole.
First, a safety inspector will visit the location to assess whether a repair needs to be completed and plan the work needed. Works are prioritised based on the urgency of the situation. The council aim to repair all significant potholes (more than 4cm deep and 30cm wide) within 28 days.
In some cases a temporary repair will be needed, to make the area safe, then engineers will return to make a permanent repair.

This pothole report has now been passed to the Safety Inspection Team for assessment.
A safety inspector will make an assessment of the work needed and they will consider a number of factors, including the flow of traffic and the size of the pothole.
If repair work is required, the pothole will either be classed as urgent or will be put into a planned programme of works to ensure it is repaired as efficiently as possible. We aim to complete the repair work within 28 days.
In some cases a temporary repair will be needed, to make the area safe, then engineers will return to make a permanent repair.
An update on the outcome of the safety inspection will be provided.

I am pleased to inform you this pothole has been repaired.
Gloucestershire County Council is responsible for almost 6,000km of roads and each one is routinely inspected (on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis, depending on the type of road). Issues can develop quickly in between these inspections and residents help by reporting problems online.
