Blocked drain with overflow causing damage to verge and mud across road.

Blocked drain outside The Old Bakery, Box, GL6 9HJ. This appears to have more one inlet of surface water, including from a pipe leading in from under Old Bakery, not just from the road surface (possibly a spring?), and which causes drain to overflow massively in heavy rain. Overflow then tracks a long distance down the road towards Box Village Green, gathering more silt and mud which is then deposited across the road and into another drain.

We will investigate the issue. If additional clearance work is needed, the local highways team will prioritise the most urgent reports. Where possible, maintenance tasks will be grouped together in a schedule for efficiency.
Sometimes during periods of heavy rain, even a clear gully can be overwhelmed. Usually the water will drain away within an hour.
