Huge pothole - you filled the wrong one!!
Reported via mobile in the A pothole in road category anonymously at 08:54, Wednesday 10 September 2025
Sent to Gloucestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8145099.
You filled one of the potholes but not the largest which is full of water and all cars drive through it and soak the house. Having a new front door fitted today as the old one completely ruined by this. I’m so unhappy with how this issue is being disregarded. Please return and fill the big pothole and also address the fact the storm drains are completely blocked causing natural springs to pop up on the road. Patching will not sort the underlying drainage issue. We cannot get to our house without crossing a slippy and slimy road?! This has been going on for over two years and I’m now seeking legal advice due to the damage caused to our house and will be making a claim if this is not sorted once and for all.

Thank you for reporting a pothole.
First, a safety inspector will visit the location to assess whether a repair needs to be completed and plan the work needed. Works are prioritised based on the urgency of the situation. The council aim to repair all significant potholes (more than 4cm deep and 30cm wide) within 28 days.
In some cases a temporary repair will be needed, to make the area safe, then engineers will return to make a permanent repair.
We will provide updates about this report.
On our website you can read about five key actions we’re taking to strengthen the county’s roads. Visit www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/highways/roads/potholes to find out more.
Thank you again for taking the time to report this issue.

This pothole report has now been passed to the Safety Inspection Team for assessment.
A safety inspector will make an assessment of the work needed and they will consider a number of factors, including the flow of traffic and the size of the pothole.
If repair work is required, the pothole will either be classed as urgent or will be put into a planned programme of works to ensure it is repaired as efficiently as possible. We aim to complete the repair work within 28 days.
In some cases a temporary repair will be needed, to make the area safe, then engineers will return to make a permanent repair.
An update on the outcome of the safety inspection will be provided.
