Inadequate drainage leads to driveway flooding
Reported via desktop in the The drain is blocked category anonymously at 13:55, Wednesday 3 September 2025
Sent to Gloucestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8113611.
We live in number 30. When it is heavy rain there is no drains between our property and the corner of the green on Barnmeadow Road. Our driveway is the lowest point and we are consistently getting flooded. It has almost come in to the house twice if not for us manually removing water with buckets and opening the drains. The water has go past our property to hit two drains so if it is heavy rain we are flooded. This is a huge risk - luckily I have been working from home the last few times but if it happens while I am out our house will flood. This has been happening for a few years now.

Thank you for reporting a drainage or flooding issue.
We will investigate the issue. If additional clearance work is needed, the local highways team will prioritise the most urgent reports. Where possible, maintenance tasks will be grouped together in a schedule for efficiency.
Sometimes during periods of heavy rain, even a clear gully can be overwhelmed. Usually the water will drain away within an hour.
Every gully or drain the county council is responsible for is cleared at least once each year. Some drains in problem areas are cleared more frequently. You can find out more, including the gully emptying schedule on our website by visiting www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/highways/roads/road-maintenance
If your property is at risk of flooding please see the Flood Guide for advice and support by visiting www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/planning-and-environment/flood-risk-management/flooding-information/flood-guide
If you are driving: please never ignore road closures or enter flood water. This could put you or others in danger and invalidate your insurance.
We will provide updates about this report. Thank you again for taking the time to report this issue.
