Footpath being used as Bridleways

Sent to Gloucestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8082776.

The footpath is regularly being used by Horse riders which is damaging the surface and making it more difficult to walk. When the horse riders are questioned they become obnoxious and her no respect for walkers, making walkers get off the footpath to allow them to pass. They also regularly trim the tress and bushes so they can ride without obstruction. Needs a sign or barrier placed at the junction of Ryeford road stating it is a footpath and not a bridleway

  • This report has now been passed to the Highways team for assessment.

    If repair work is required, it will either be classed as urgent or will be put into a planned programme of works to ensure it is repaired as efficiently as possible.

    In some cases a temporary repair will be needed, to make the area safe, then engineers will return to make a permanent repair.

    An update on the issue will be provided.
