Traffic light priority and flow with other lights in the town

Reported via mobile in the Green or amber traffic light is not working category anonymously at 17:38, Tuesday 20 May 2025

Sent to Gloucestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7596558.

The traffic lights where the Evesham road (A424) meet the Fosse Way (A429) are out of sync and have a priority coming from the A424. Coming from the Moreton direction it is very common for no cars to get through the light, then as the traffic ahead begins to move the light changes and 25 cars get out from the A424 and the cycle repeats. Sometimes the light is green for the A424 for 45 seconds, and then is green for the A429 for 10 seconds. The most we have waited in the first position on the A429 is 4 cycles of lights whilst the A424 flows freely. It is often quicker when driving from Moreton to Stow to cut through the very small Cotswold villages ie Donnington and join the A424, making these very small villages a rat run which is very dangerous for any local children.
