Unpermitted roadworks problem

Reported in the Unpermitted roadworks category by Gloucestershire County Council at 14:16, Tuesday 6 May 2025

FixMyStreet ref: 7533207.

We are trying to find out information about a possible road closure on 14th and 15th May in Lewis Lane, Cirencester. There is a sign at the beginning of Lewis Lane (at the traffic lights), stating that “this road will be closed from 14 May 2025 for 2 days”.

We have a Locality Office for [ORGANISATION] in Lewis Lane and access to the staff car park is via Lewis Lane. We haven’t received any notification of the road closure or been informed that we will not be able to access our car park at the [LOCATION] Lewis Lane during this time. We need to be able to inform all [STAFF} who work from these premises whether they can come into the office on these days and park or potentially whether this office needs to be closed. Is there going to be an alternative access arrangement for cars the drive the opposite way down Lewis Lane just to access our car park or to drive down Carpenters Lane?
I did try using your "Report a problem" option on your Website and got as far as trying to report an issue with Temporary Traffic Signals and it took me to some information about road closure on 12&13 May (not 14th) and it also referred to Gigaclear Ltd having responsibility for this. So I have tried contacting them and they could only confirm they have a permit for 12&13 May.

Can you please provide us with information about this road closure and what redirections will be in place so that we can inform all of the staff based here.
