General road markings, lines and stud issues problem

Reported in the General road markings, lines and stud issues category by Gloucestershire County Council at 16:49, Wednesday 15 January 2025

FixMyStreet ref: 6987929.

I am both a resident of the new persimmons site off Diamond road, GL20 7GF and i work at IDEMIA on the Alexandra way industrial park that are either side of the A46.

The council is well aware of the congestion of the road and i have supported the community engagment for the new proposed traffic calming measures and "juction 9a"

However there is a great need for a yellow box to be painted at the traffic lights along the A46 at the junction due to the congestion caused when traffic builds, and people rush through changing lights, which therefore blocks the traffic exiting Alexandra way industrial park. A similar one had been painted further up at the jct 9 southbound slip road lights onto the A46 but there is greater need to have one further down to stop the blockage.

This spot is regularly blocked by lorries, cars and vans, and on several occasions i have witnessed cards and vans trying to get off the estate who may have already sat through 2 /3 lots of lights due to the inconsideration on the A46 drive on to the other side of the road to get round the lights and congestion which is highly dangerous and on occasion caused near misses. The multiple lights have been designed to allow traffic to flow as best possible but this doesn't work for those trying to get off the industrial estate which is frequently blocked throughout the day and more so at peak rush hour. i have multiple photos, videos, and colleagues across multiple business on this site willing to support this inconvenience.

we believe a yellow box will reduce the risk and support the flow of traffic to be fair at all lights.
