Very dangerous twin roundabouts.

Reported via mobile in the General road marking and stud issues category anonymously at 23:05, Saturday 9 November 2024

Sent to Gloucestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6713662.

Temporary new roundabout junction of Leckhampton Hill and A436 as part of A417 Missing Link works.

I have been almost hit twice leaving Leckhampton Hill by person's not realising the painted roundabout exists, and they drive at speed heading toward seven springs.

Drivers leave the old air balloon roundabout, and in the close confines of the bollards area, they accelerate directly across the painted roundabout. This means they do not look left for traffic entering the roundabout, they approach at speed, and drive in a straight line as though no roundabout is there.

This is causing several near misses every morning in busy traffic. Someone will be hurt soon, if not so already.

The roundabout should be coned centrally to force drivers to slow, proceed in a correct manner, and check traffic indication from their right, and entries from Leckhampton Hill, prior to arrival at the roundabout.

Please call the a417 missing link group to monitor and change the layout and markings. And cones immediately.

Thanks
