Damaged Drain

Sent to Gloucestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6673128.

Manhole cover is located mid way down Southall Terrace in grass verge. The drain is damaged rather than blocked. It was cleared last year and is continuing to overflow and run down road. Drain runs along grass verge and location of manhole is not within the road. Large volume of water pouring down road at peak times of rainfall.

    We will investigate the issue. If additional clearance work is needed, the local highways team will prioritise the most urgent reports. Where possible, maintenance tasks will be grouped together in a schedule for efficiency.

    Sometimes during periods of heavy rain, even a clear gully can be overwhelmed. Usually the water will drain away within an hour.

    Every gully or drain the county council is responsible for is cleared at least once each year. Some drains in problem areas are cleared more frequently.
