Drainage ditch opposite Sarnia is completely blocked and totally overgrown. Land owner has moved out of the area and has failed to clear the ditch and maintain hedgerow for several years. Vegetation now covers tarmac by more than 0.5m

Opposite Sarnia, Butts Lane. 40m stretch completely blocked. Including across gateway to field and footpath

    We will investigate the issue. If additional clearance work is needed, the local highways team will prioritise the most urgent reports. Where possible, maintenance tasks will be grouped together in a schedule for efficiency.

    Sometimes during periods of heavy rain, even a clear gully can be overwhelmed. Usually the water will drain away within an hour.

    Every gully or drain the county council is responsible for is cleared at least once each year. Some drains in problem areas are cleared more frequently.
