Tree is damaged problem

Reported in the Tree is damaged category by Gloucestershire County Council at 14:04, Friday 25 October 2024

FixMyStreet ref: 6658496.

I have a problem with the oak tree located outside my house. The tree is situated outside the boundary of my house and I believe is the responsibility of the council. I continue to be concerned about this tree for several reasons.

Firstly, the roots of the tree have damaged my front wall, causing it to fall. This damage has been happening for several years. The site was visited by someone from the council several years ago who questioned whether the damage was caused by the tree. It is ridiculous to suggest anything else could have caused the damage. Since that visit, I have had some work done on the trees at the back of the house, and the company I employed to carry out that work were clear that the damage was being caused by the tree.

My second concern is the lack of management of the tree. A number of branches have come down in my garden, some of them of considerable size. I am concerned that one of these branches might cause damage, particularly to the cars parked on my driveway.

In my opinion, the tree branches do not appear to be in a healthy condition and need to be managed.

I would be grateful if the safety of this tree could be assessed and the damage to my wall repaired.

Regards
