Hi, I live in crawley hill in Uley. We often walk down to the village to use the shop and local amenities. In summer the footpath was completely unusual as the path was over grown with greenery, forcing users to walk in the road which is not safe, especially with all the sharpe corners. Although I appreciate the road is a 30 speed limit, but living directly on it I know full well that 99% of the cars that come down the road a lot quicker despite the sign. I have been beeped a few times crossing the road because cars race around the corner at such a speed. It should be fully achievable to cross the road safely with the assigned speed limit, sadly people do not batter an eyelid to it. The final straw was the other day, when I pulled out of crawley lane, using the mirror and a transit van nearly went into the side of me because he was going so fast! I am now expecting a child and I’d really like to leave my property knowing the road on crawley hill is safe. Often, I drive down to the village which seems crazy when I could just walk. I appreciate a new pavement is a large project, but was hoping if I reached out someone would come and access the road themselves and consider it for a speed camera. Honestly you’d make a fortune! You’d make your money back in a day. Unfortunately signs have proven to be ineffective. It’s only natural to drive faster when going down hill or even up hill to get up to speed. This is a very, very busy road, it’s the gateway from Stroud to Dursley. Thank you for your consideration, appreciate you are busy but if no one ever reports it you’ll never know. If someone would even come and look at the mental traffic for 10 minutes they would appreciate my concern for safety here. Thanks Tamsin
