Over 40 potholes in this section of road
Reported via desktop in the A pothole in road category anonymously at 13:24, Wednesday 9 October 2024
Sent to Gloucestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6570975.
The public road from the corner of Dibden Lane all the way up to Frampton Farmhouse is mainly potholes and sunken sides. Highways came 2 weeks ago, in the pouring rain and yet again marked some with paint, now washed off - since then, 3 different teams of workers have come, in the pouring rain, and each filled a couple of holes. This same scenario has been happening for at least the last 20 years, and your so called repairs only make things worse, as the loose tarmac gets washed down the lane causing more holes! We would appreciate another inspection (we have had several inspectors out in the past, who all agree that something more lasting needs to be done, but it never is - even your workmen say to us that what they are being asked to do is a complete waste of time and money.)
Updates
-
Thank you for reporting a pothole.
First, a safety inspector will visit the location to assess whether a repair needs to be completed and plan the work needed. Works are prioritised based on the urgency of the situation. The council aim to repair all significant potholes (more than 4cm deep and 30cm wide) within 28 days.
In some cases a temporary repair will be needed, to make the area safe, then engineers will return to make a permanent repair.
We will provide updates about this report.
On our website you can read about five key actions we’re taking to strengthen the county’s roads. Visit www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/highways/roads/potholes to find out more.
Thank you again for taking the time to report this issue.

This pothole report has now been passed to the Safety Inspection Team for assessment.
A safety inspector will make an assessment of the work needed and they will consider a number of factors, including the flow of traffic and the size of the pothole.
If repair work is required, the pothole will either be classed as urgent or will be put into a planned programme of works to ensure it is repaired as efficiently as possible. We aim to complete the repair work within 28 days.
In some cases a temporary repair will be needed, to make the area safe, then engineers will return to make a permanent repair.
An update on the outcome of the safety inspection will be provided.

I am pleased to inform you this pothole has been repaired.
Gloucestershire County Council is responsible for almost 6,000km of roads and each one is routinely inspected (on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis, depending on the type of road). Issues can develop quickly in between these inspections and residents help by reporting problems online.
Our longer term plans to improve road conditions include patching, resurfacing and maintenance works, information can be found online at www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/highways.
