Newly painted white lines removed by pothole repairs a week later, but not reinstated

Reported via desktop in the General road marking and stud issues category anonymously at 20:49, Mon 23 September 2024

Sent to Gloucestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6506957.

Good Evening

I thought I would report a bonkers occurence which has not been a good use of taxpayers funds.

A few weeks ago the white lines and mini roundabouts were repainted along the whole length of Hempsted Lane, this was after surface repairs had been done to the Hempsted Lane from the Kidney roundabout up to the Post Office, and the lines looked fab. About a week later, further pothole / surface repairs were undertaken from Waters Reach down the HIll to the traffic lights with Secunda Way, and this had the effect of removing the newly repainted lines all the way up the steep hill, including the newly repainted 'slow' sign.

It looks like someone was a bit quick with ordering the repainting when the surface repairs hadn't been fully completed.

However can we please now have the lines reinstated for a second time? Whereas before the surface repairs the lines were there albeit incredibly faded, now the road surface has been replaced there's no lines at all for long stretches of carriageway.

Many thanks.
