Following on from previous and visits to the property by council roadway services the problem is now very serious. The surface water running off Victoria Road is causing problems with flooding and the destruction of the drive.

Sent to Gloucestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6497806.
The drain on Victoria Road outside of East Cottage is not connected to the road drainage system. It flows to a sump inside of the East Cottage garden which then discharges to a soak away within the property. During a recent visit by council to the property the soak away line was cleaned out which resulted in a large flood. The technicians have blocked the discharge to the soak away to prevent garden flooding. All surface water now runs into the property drive. See photographs with this report. This is a serious situation and required immediate attention.

Thank you for reporting a drainage or flooding issue.
We will investigate the issue. If additional clearance work is needed, the local highways team will prioritise the most urgent reports. Where possible, maintenance tasks will be grouped together in a schedule for efficiency.
Sometimes during periods of heavy rain, even a clear gully can be overwhelmed. Usually the water will drain away within an hour.
Every gully or drain the county council is responsible for is cleared at least once each year. Some drains in problem areas are cleared more frequently. You can find out more, including the gully emptying schedule on our website by visiting www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/highways/roads/road-maintenance
If your property is at risk of flooding please see the Flood Guide for advice and support by visiting www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/planning-and-environment/flood-risk-management/flooding-information/flood-guide
If you are driving: please never ignore road closures or enter flood water. This could put you or others in danger and invalidate your insurance.
We will provide updates about this report. Thank you again for taking the time to report this issue.
