Loose and Noisy Fire Hydrant Cover After Second Replacement
Sent to Gloucestershire County Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6479777.
Fire hydrant cover is loose, knocking and loud. Cover and frame was replaced as part of Pirton lane resurfacing. First cover was immediately loose and noisy. Issue reported direct to contractors who replaced cover with alternative. Feedback was new cover may not be good enough as frame may be warped. Contractor advised new cover would be tried before frame replacement was considered. New cover is now loose and noisy again with every car that drives over it. Now causing disruption to local business with continual noise intrusion.

This report has now been passed to the Highways team for assessment.
If repair work is required, it will either be classed as urgent or will be put into a planned programme of works to ensure it is repaired as efficiently as possible.
In some cases a temporary repair will be needed, to make the area safe, then engineers will return to make a permanent repair.
