Not mended! Temporary traffic lights have been in place for weeks and your website says it is mended
Reported via mobile in the A pothole in road category anonymously at 13:38, Monday 19 August 2024
Sent to Gloucestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6374167.
This is an ongoing major defect in the road, and I checked on here to see when it was scheduled to be dealt with. I see you appear to have signed it off as complete. There are temporary traffic lights, a 30 mph restriction in both directions (entirely unnecessary northbound once you are past the defect) and a sense of permanence and stagnation around the whole thing. This butts straight onto the hideous collection of barriers which basically obscure the view at the racecourse roundabout. I feel this is now something of an embarrassment for the council and am surprised (am I?) that there seems to be a lack of dynamism to get this sorted out.

Thank you for reporting a pothole.
First, a safety inspector will visit the location to assess whether a repair needs to be completed and plan the work needed. Works are prioritised based on the urgency of the situation. The council aim to repair all significant potholes (more than 4cm deep and 30cm wide) within 28 days.
In some cases a temporary repair will be needed, to make the area safe, then engineers will return to make a permanent repair.
We will provide updates about this report.
On our website you can read about five key actions we’re taking to strengthen the county’s roads. Visit www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/highways/roads/potholes to find out more.
Thank you again for taking the time to report this issue.

This pothole report has now been passed to the Safety Inspection Team for assessment.
A safety inspector will make an assessment of the work needed and they will consider a number of factors, including the flow of traffic and the size of the pothole.
If repair work is required, the pothole will either be classed as urgent or will be put into a planned programme of works to ensure it is repaired as efficiently as possible. We aim to complete the repair work within 28 days.
In some cases a temporary repair will be needed, to make the area safe, then engineers will return to make a permanent repair.
An update on the outcome of the safety inspection will be provided.
