Incomplete Repair
Sent to Gloucestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6365084.
This pothole / sinkhole was reported some time ago, as the cones placed around it were reducing the road width so much that vehicles were in danger of meeting head on. This week, workmen dug a load of soil etc out of the hole, coned it off and haven’t been seen since. So the hazard is now worse than it was due ti a bigger hole with more cones around it. Why start the work and then just vanish without a trace? Surely it’s not that complicated to fill a hole in?

Thank you for reporting a pothole.
First, a safety inspector will visit the location to assess whether a repair needs to be completed and plan the work needed. Works are prioritised based on the urgency of the situation. The council aim to repair all significant potholes (more than 4cm deep and 30cm wide) within 28 days.
In some cases a temporary repair will be needed, to make the area safe, then engineers will return to make a permanent repair.

This pothole report has now been passed to the Safety Inspection Team for assessment.
A safety inspector will make an assessment of the work needed and they will consider a number of factors, including the flow of traffic and the size of the pothole.
If repair work is required, the pothole will either be classed as urgent or will be put into a planned programme of works to ensure it is repaired as efficiently as possible. We aim to complete the repair work within 28 days.
In some cases a temporary repair will be needed, to make the area safe, then engineers will return to make a permanent repair.
