Pedestrian button not working

Sent to Gloucestershire County Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6297956.

When you press pedestrian button to stop traffic when coming from Heron way to cross over Painswick Road the light around the button comes on for a few seconds then goes out but does not stop the traffic. If you repeat the process it still does not stop traffic only way to cross road is to take life in own hands!!!!!
