Left turn lights on delayed green

Sent to Gloucestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5737435.

Why does the left-turn light into Eastern Avenue turn green about 5 seconds after the straight on green? This delays vehicles turning left and heading straight. Why not have them synchronised? All of these delays add up. Think marginal gains. If you improved the timings on all lights think how much total benefit there would be for everyone! Especially as Gloucester loves traffic lights, when there seems money for nothing else there is always money for extra traffic lights. Funny that...
